I am striving to do this every year. I have had it in my head for at least the last month reminding myself to not forget.

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Well, first I had to go back and see what I rec'd last year. I posted then about All I Want for Christmas - which is still a HUGE favorite of mine; Reflections - this one is all Snape & Harry; and My Mate - I think this one is the first fic that truly made me feel extremely happy over my writing.

This year, I am going to rec something else, obviously. I have provided the other links in case someone has missed them. 2015 is a new year, though, so we need new (old because I haven't written anything in awhile) recs!

Dancing Fairytales - This is a Neville/Ginny fic. I like this fic because it just sort of wrote itself. I was prompted with fanart of Neville and Ginny dancing. I let my mind explore...

I Never - I love this one because it is the fic where I began to explore George/Susan as a pairing. I re-read it every few months. There needs to be more George/Susan so I don't have to keep re-reading my own fic! haha

Last but not least, Changing Faces. I laughed as I scrolled through AO3 trying to pick. The story that would never end! It took me forever to write this one. I started it the day after HBP came out. So, I may have worked in a bit of DH, but very loosely. The horcruxes are not the same, but hey - I didn't even want to focus on those stupid things. So many memories are tied up in this fic. Memories of joking with Raven about how Harry and Lucius were actually going to end up together to complaints about those stupid horcruxes! It was completely re-edited and then finished this year for a lovely little fest "Finish your sh*t." I am thinking I need to do it again just because I have another one that keeps reminding me that it is sitting there just waiting.

Day 5 - creator?? I am going to have to go with winnett. She is one of many that has made an impact in my life. There are countless creators that are just pure awesome, but winnett has gone above and beyond. I remember writing for hds_beltane a few years ago and she beta'd for me. She helped me take my story that I was fighting with and turn it into something wonderful. She writes amazing fanfic AND original work. She jumps in and helps when she is needed. LOVE her.

Day 6 - Book that has made an impact.

I don't think anyone will be surprised when I say the Harry Potter series. Yes, it is an awesome series, but it literally saved my life. When Order of the Phoenix was released, I was taking care of my mom who was dying. I read all five books, and then re-read all five books. They took me away from the situation I was in. I couldn't leave my mom. I was her caregiver. If I left the house and someone else was watching her, they would have to call me to come home. I could never leave for more than an hour at a time. I almost had to leave the premier of PoA at the theaters. It was one day I was being selfish just for me. I had a phone call halfway through the movie. SO, needless to say, it was not a good time for me.

I lost myself in the books. I was a prisoner to my house, although I was doing what I needed to do. I couldn't leave, I only had books. Harry Potter took me away. Harry Potter allowed my mind to soar into other places. I was able to escape, if only for an hour or two, but still be right here for my mom. It was a month before she died that I found fanfiction. Let me just say this now, it will always have a place in my heart because it saved my sanity.

Day 2

You would think this would be easy for me, right? Hahaha

My first community would be where I spend all of my time these days. Do you think sorting communities are a thing of the past? Do you feel like all they do is judge you and you wonder what you will have in common with the people once you are sorted? Wonder no more and come and join me at hogwartsishome. I never thought I would love a community like I loved the sorting__hat. I am developing deep and lasting friendships with my fellow Slytherins and I know no one is surprised that I am making best friends with the Puffs, too. Everyone is wonderful and down to earth. There is so much to do there, so much to get competitive over. Do you like writing for a challenge - there are many clubs that offer writing challenges or hh_sugarquill. Then there are the graphics. I have gone from not knowing how to do graphics to honestly making some that look really nice (just because I have to earn points for Slytherin). I have also started making icons at . In addition to the writing and graphics - puzzles help to pass the time away. Do I sound like a commercial yet?

The community that will always be close to my heart is hp_creatures. I was there at the beginning and even though I'm not very active, it is still my baby.

My final one will have to be do_me_veela. I have taken back my reigns of being a modly type person and have started all the greatness of prompting for the V-Day Fest! LOVE all around.
